As of right now, it looks like Maryland’s same sex marriage law is going to get enough signatures to get a referendum. I had been planning for a while to register to vote in the state of Pennsylvania, a swing state, so that my vote for Barack Obama would make more of a difference (seeing that MD is pretty much guaranteed to be sending in 10 Democratic electoral college votes no matter what).
However, with the issue of the same-sex marriage law being put up to vote in my home state and the fact that I am naturally distrusting in the dumbasses that live there, my decision to switch is much less certain.
